PREMISE

MoveLab Climbing Società Sportiva Dilettantistica a Responsabilità Limitata is an organization whose mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all its members and participants.

In compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 39 of February 28, 2021, and in particular Article 16, paragraph 2, MoveLab Climbing adopts this Organizational and Control Model for sporting activities, complying with the guidelines developedby UISP (Italian Union of Sport for All), its affiliated sports organization.

The aforementioned UISP guidelines, which can be consulted in full at: https://www.uisp.it/nazionale/pagina/atto-costitutivo-statuto-e-regolamenti, form an integral and substantial part of this model.

Publication and Dissemination

MoveLab Climbing guarantees maximum transparency and accessibility of this Model through:

  • Physical display: The Model and Code of Conduct are displayed in the common areas of all sports facilities used by the association.
  • Digital publication: Permanently available on the homepage of the official website (www.movelab.it) and on the official social media profiles.
  • Direct communication: Transmission via email to all members upon registration and upon each subsequent modification of the document.
  • Continuing education: Presentation of the model during regular information sessions for employees, instructors, and members

SECTION 1 - FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF MEMBERS

Article 1 - Recognition of Rights

All MoveLab Climbing members are granted the following fundamental and inalienable rights:

1.1 Right to Dignity and Respect

Every person has the absolute and unconditional right to:

  • Dignified, respectful, and equal treatment in every relationship, context, and situation within the association.
  • Protecting one's personal identity, physical and psychological integrity
  • The absence of humiliation, ridicule, devaluation, or degrading behavior of any kind
  • Recognizing one's own value as a person, regardless of athletic performance

1.2 Right to Protection from Abuse, Violence, and Discrimination

Every person is protected against:

a) Physical abuse:

  • Physical violence of any intensity
  • Physical constraints not justified by immediate safety requirements
  • Corporal punishment of any kind
  • Neglect in providing assistance with basic physical needs

b) Psychological abuse:

  • Intimidation, threats, emotional blackmail
  • Forced social isolation or systematic marginalization
  • Psychological manipulation aimed at control
  • Psychological pressure disproportionate to sporting objectives
  • Use of psychological coercion techniques to increase performance

c) Sexual abuse:

  • Any form of verbal, physical, or visual sexual harassment
  • Inappropriate comments, jokes, or allusions of a sexual nature
  • Non-consensual physical contact with sexual connotations
  • Exposure to pornographic or sexually explicit material
  • Explicit or implicit requests for sexual favors

d) Gender-based violence:

  • Discrimination based on biological sex or gender identity
  • Gender stereotypes that undermine personal dignity
  • Sexist or misogynistic/misandric behavior
  • Exclusions or limitations based on gender

e) Discrimination:

No form of discrimination is tolerated, including those based on:

  • Ethnicity, nationality, national or territorial origin
  • Skin color, physical characteristics
  • Religion, spiritual belief, or atheism
  • Personal, philosophical, or political beliefs
  • Physical, intellectual, sensory, or relational disability
  • Age
  • Gender identity, gender expression
  • Sexual, emotional, or romantic orientation
  • Native language or linguistic accent
  • Socio-economic, financial, or employment status
  • Family situation (marital status, family composition)
  • Physical characteristics, body type
  • Level of athletic training or sports results

1.3 Right to Priority Health Care

Every person has the right to:

  • Physical health and psychological well-being are considered a priority over any sporting result, competition, or performance goal.
  • Respect your own physical and psychological recovery times.
  • Timely and appropriate medical assistance is guaranteed in the event of an accident or illness.
  • Workloads or training intensities that are harmful to health should not be imposed.
  • It is possible to stop participating in sports for health reasons without being subjected to pressure, penalties, or retaliation.

SECTION 2 - AWARENESS AND PREVENTION

Article 2 - Understanding the Phenomenon of Abuse

2.1 Definition of Abuse in the Context of Sport

"Abuse" refers to any behavior, action, or omission that:

  • Create a hostile, intimidating, degrading, or humiliating environment
  • Abuse a position of power, authority, or trust
  • All fundamental rights recognized in this Model

2.2 Forms of Power in the Sporting Context

Various forms of power susceptible to abuse are recognized:

a) Hierarchical power:

  • Derived from positions of organizational leadership (managers, administrators)
  • Based on the instructor-athlete, coach-team relationship
  • Linked to supervisory or coordination roles

b) Powers of jurisdiction:

  • Derived from specialized technical knowledge
  • Based on experience and curriculum in the sector
  • Link to professional qualifications and certifications

c) Relational power:

  • Derived from personal charisma or ability to influence society
  • Based on established networks of relationships
  • Linked to reputation and community recognition

d) Economic power:

  • Derived from the control of financial resources
  • Based on the ability to grant or deny economic benefits
  • Related to the management of scholarships, sponsorships, and compensation

2.3 Identification of Persons at Risk

The following are considered vulnerable categories requiring enhanced protection:

a) Minors (under 18):

  • Reduced ability to recognize risky situations
  • Dependence on adult role models
  • Incomplete development of psychological defense mechanisms
  • Greater suggestibility with regard to authority

b) Persons with disabilities:

  • Possible dependence on external assistance
  • Potential communication difficulties
  • Specific physical or cognitive vulnerability

c) People in conditions of socio-economic fragility:

  • Fear of missing out on opportunities or economic benefits
  • Less access to legal or psychological support
  • Possible social isolation

d) Athletes with previous performances:

  • Psychological pressure to achieve results
  • Economic dependence on sporting activities
  • Fear of repercussions on one's career

e) New members:

  • Lack of established support networks
  • Lack of knowledge of organizational dynamics
  • Fear of not being accepted

Article 3 - Role of the Safeguarding Officer

3.1 Names and Qualifications

MoveLab Climbing has appointed Dr. Daniela Calai as Head of Protection against Abuse, Violence, and Discrimination by resolution of the Board of Directors on December 15, 2024.

The manager has:

  • Specific training on protection and human rights
  • Competence in crisis management
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations
  • Active listening and mediation skills

3.2 Tasks and Responsibilities

The Safeguarding Officer:

a) Listening and welcoming function:

  • Receives reports of abuse, violence, discrimination
  • Provides empathetic and non-judgmental support to people who seek help.
  • Guarantees absolute confidentiality except where required by law.
  • Informs about available options without forcing decisions

b) Evaluation function:

  • Analyze the severity and urgency of the situations reported
  • Identify immediate protective measures when necessary
  • Assess the need to involve other parties (management, authorities)

c) Management function:

  • Coordinates protection and support measures
  • Monitor the implementation of the measures adopted
  • Document the actions taken in compliance with privacy regulations.

d) Preventive function:

  • Prepare or distribute informational materials on risks
  • Organize training sessions for employees and associates
  • Promotes a culture of awareness and responsibility

e) Advisory function:

  • Supports the Board of Directors in implementing protection policies
  • Proposes improvements to protocols and procedures
  • Collaborate on the periodic review of the Model
